Our beginning

Jim Gill grew up on a dairy farm south of Northfield, Minnesota. After completing a degree in Plant Pathology from the University of Minnesota, Jim worked as a consulting agronomist for crop consulting cooperatives in Wisconsin and Minnesota for four years. He quickly realized there was a better way, and started Gill Agricultural Consulting in 1986. As an independent crop consultant, Jim’s sole focus is on maximizing yields for his clients while sustaining their success. Now a family business, Jim’s sons are involved and will continue the tradition of providing agronomic services and delivering unbiased advice for farmers in the upper midwest.
